As 2009 winds down, and plans are being made for Christmas and New Years, all of us at GolfScene would like to wish you and your families a very happy holiday season and a prosperous 2010.
I would also like to personally thank each and every one of you for your continued support of GolfScene throughout the 2009 publishing campaign.
Thanks especially to our many readers who have communicated with us in one form or another during the year, to our contest winners and to all of you who just enjoy ‘ reading about golf ’.

Nathan Green drops in the gallery behind 18 during the final round of the 2009 Canadian Open.
Here are a few of my 2009 golf highlights. It is a nice time of year to spend with family, reflect and enjoy.
- watching the steady rise of amateurs Matt Hill and Nick Taylor, two young Canadian ‘up and comers’
- following Graham DeLaet to the cusp of the PGA Tour (congrats Graham – and best of luck)
- witnessing Sam Young, a Canadian teaching icon, take the time to give my 6 year old grandson, Owen a few golf tips
- caddying three days for son, Steve at the Seaforth Country Classic, a Canadian Tour stop where we had a media exemption
- following Jennifer Kirby, the pride of Paris, as she works her way up the ladder of Canadian Ladies golf
- witnessing Nathan Green ‘close up’ in a Canadian Open photo finish
- volunteering, with wife Linda, at the 2009 Canadian Junior Boys Championship at one of my favourite golf courses, Westmount Golf and Country Club in Kitchener
- and finally, spending a day with Jack Nicklaus at Mexico’s Punta Mita Resort, watching him play and listening to his golf course design philosophies (you can learn a little more about Punta Mita and listen Jack’s thoughts on the only way left to protect a golf course on pages 18-20 of this years destinationGolf mag — eVersion).
If you have not already done so, check out this years edition of destinationgolf Magazine. This years edition was our first true eZINE and it has a couple of interactive / rich media elements to enhance the ‘reading‘ experience. Take some time to check out a few more of the fabulous golf destinations around the world. Read. Listen. And watch!
Should you have the privilege of traveling to play golf this winter, be sure to send us your very own ‘great golf photo’. We’ll share your story with all of our readers over at the destinationgolf website where the plan is to begin a reader gallery.
We have some new and exciting ideas for the upcoming season and will continue to update you over the winter months.
Now settle back, enjoy the holiday season, spend some extra time with family and friends. See you in 2010.
