More Practise Translates to Greater Consistency

The more I practice the better and more consistent I will get.

BUSTED

This theory holds true only when the player has a solid understanding of how to practice. If you’re struggling to produce the shots you’re attempting – this is where a good coach can help.  Golf instruction seems to centre around error detection and correction.  Anyone can read a few instruction books and tell you what you’re doing wrong.

The challenge is to communicate the ‘how to’.  Empowering students with the knowledge and understanding of the necessary ability followed immediately by the corresponding instruction.

Programs that include a mix of lessons and supervised practice or coaching often lead to a player progressing faster then those spending equal time with lessons and practicing on their own. Golfers commonly mention the fear of practicing the ‘wrong things’ or are unsure when they are practicing the ‘right things’. I have witnessed great success with the method of guided discovery and practice.  So if you’re serious about your game why not make sure you are working in the right direction.
