Multiple Winners and Something New

As the 2008 golf season begins to wind down, GolfScene continues to make winners of area golfers.

Our big Nike Golf contest ended on September 5th with Jim Morton of London walking away with a new driver, fairway wood and a hybrid club. (and a very astute free lesson in advanced geometry)

Thanks to Janice Cournoyer of Lorette, Manitoba, an eGolfScene subscriber who took the time to ‘forward’ our August eNews to a golfing friend. Janice is the winner of Bob Skura’s popular book, How Great Golfers Think.

Also, during August, just for subscribing to our eNews, we had two winners of a dozen Nike ONE golf balls. Hit ‘em straight, Bob Williams of Mississauga and John Teixeira of Kitchener.

Mike Reinhardt of Kitchener and Susan Gentile, also of Kitchener were August winners of a foursome at the new and exciting Tarandowah Golf Club just south of Woodstock. A true Scottish links golf facility, this course is getting rave reviews. Plan to go down and play this Fall.

September will see more draws from our subscriber database for Tarandowah foursomes and also for Nike ONE golf balls. You could be our next winner.

And our next big GolfScene contest is in the making. Watch for details at golfscene.ca/contest

Congratulations to all of our August winners!

The Fall issue of GolfScene Magazine and the ‘NEW’ Destination Golf Mag

On press is our Fall issue of GolfScene Magazine along with something new and exciting for all of our readers who like to combine golf and travel. This year we have produced a second publication which you should find right alongside GolfScene at your nearest golf pro-shop or golf retailer in our circulation area. It’s called Destination Golf.

From Tobiano, British Columbia to Ireland, from The Ginn Reunion Resort in Florida to Mont Tremblant in Quebec, we have packaged some of the ‘best in the world’. Be sure to pick up a copy.

In the Fall issue of GolfScene Magazine, you’ll be able to read about the recent success of Quagmire Golf (their guy Chez Reavie won the Canadian Open) and its two local owners.

Brent Long tells us why, in his opinion, it really doesn’t matter what logo is on your golf ball.

Pro Tips continue to be popular with our readers as everyone wants to find that ‘extra little way’ to drop strokes from their game.

Conor O’Shea, a CPGA Golf Professional along with his peers at Core Golf Academy unravel some of the more common myths that plague the golfing community.

Some picks from two Canadian Opens for all who didn’t get to attend.

Our regular ‘back-page guy’, Ian Hutchinson delves into the challenges facing the golf governing groups across Canada and, as only Hutch can do, he ‘tells it like it is’.

And all of our columnists are back with their final words for 2008.
