Season Come Early

It’s only early April and we’re off and running, walking, or carting

This stretch of great weather has golfers ‘chomping at the bit’ and golf courses scrambling to get the pins in. What a fantastic start to the season! Here at GolfScene we are also ‘certainly not suffering through slow play as we try and stay one step ahead in the wild world of media’.

Our Ultimate Bag Tag Contest is creating quite a buzz with our readers and subscribers. Thanks for all of the feedback. We have now posted seven questions and interest continues to build. If you haven’t checked it out click on ‘contests’ on the web site and you can easily catch up by researching the answers. Make a note of your answers and watch for the entry form along with the final question in week ten. You could be playing ten great golf courses this summer, with a buddy, including a cart – all compliments of GolfScene and our ten participating courses.

More ways to play more and save more

GolfScene has teamed up with area golf course owners to make it easy for you to get your copy of The Red Book and the Golf Fore All book, each chock-full of bonus offers, premiums and incentives. To have a chance at winning the Golf Fore All book all you have to do is be an eNews subscriber and  ‘forward’ your copy to a friend via the forward option within your email. Last month the response was so good we decided to select two winners. Congratulations to Bertram Chan of Toronto and Ryan Rumball of Caledonia. They have already received their Books and both are probably ‘on the course’ enjoying a round.

Thanks to the Southwestern Ontario Owner’s group we have a fresh shipment of The Red Book ready to give away. Here’s how you can win. Send me the name of your favourite Ontario golf course, your favourite Ontario golf hole and the name of the golf course that serves the ‘best hamburger’ and why.  I’ll send out a copy of The Red Book to the first five messages received.  And, in addition, I’ll make the selections early (mid April) so the winners can get full use of the Book and capitalize on this early start to the golf season. Send your answers to info@golfscene.ca.

And be sure to check the website under eNews as there are a few interesting posts …

  • Read about a GolfScene subscriber, Peter Hopkins and son Dean. Their Myrtle Beach story is interesting
  • Read about courses in the area that are staging ‘open houses’ and offering golfers a chance to learn more about their offerings.
  • Read (or should we say look at) about a new camera technology Gigapan which brings the ‘Biggest Party on Grass’ right onto your monitor in a curious panoramic style that is both zoomable and scrollable.
  • Read (or should we say try-to-answer) a putting puzzle that is as much a conundrum as the short game itself.
  • and more
