Testing the New X-24 Hot Irons from Callaway
Spent an hour or so on the range the other day with Callaway’s new X-24 ‘Hot’ Irons. The marketing states that these are are designed to produce faster ball speeds across the clubface – translation – increased distance from each club. Unfortunately, the wind was blowing chairs over on this day so any real attempt to gauge distance was futile at best. I did bring along an 8 iron of my own for a general comparison... Reader Email : Two Issues
I have played sports at a high level all my life and still do ( lacrosse, weight lifting, martial arts ). I started golf as a game to be played with family and friends since my life is pretty busy and required something a little less testosterone related. My two issues are: Why must we be paired up? More people on the course is more money but I don’t want to play with complete strangers when I need to spend time with my wife or other family... [ Read Full Article ]

Notebook: Scotty Cameron
Listening in on a Master Had the unique opportunity to attend a Scotty Cameron workshop during the PGA of America’s annual merchandise show. The chat was about an hour . Unfortunately he had to leave immediately afterwards and couldn’t answer any direct questions (and I had more than a few), but it was an informative sixty minutes and below are a few notes: Scotty Cameron was born in 1962 in Glendale, California. He now resides in... [ Read Full Article ]

James Lepp is already one of Canada’s very best golfers. Now he’s now set his sights on injecting a little colour into the golf shoe market. Vancouver’s James Lepp is doing things a little differently. While most great young golfers (Lepp was the 2005 NCAA Champion – has carded a 59 – won on the Canadian Tour) spend every waking minute honing their skills, toiling on the range, and or maxing out yet another credit card... The Media Has Just Gone …
GOLFERAZZI from The SPRING 2010 Magazine | talking in your backSwing : Ian Hutchinson I write this column on my 55th birthday, an occasion with cause to reflect back to simpler times when if I was seeking golf information, I would actually pick up a golf publication instead of clicking on to TMZ or scanning the supermarket tabloids. Usually, I only looked at the tabloids to identify this week’s alien and I always suspected golf personalities such... [ Read Full Article ]
Things Beginning to Take Shape for 2010 Canadian Open
Recently, I had the privilege of attending the annual Canadian Open media presser. These things generally kick-start the media announcements surrounding the Canadian Open and also provide us with an opportunity to play / learn a little about the host course – this year being St George’s Country Club. St George’s is private and fairly exclusive so outside of the RCGA’s invite it is not a track that I had even set foot on... [ Read Full Article ]
