Canadians Leave a Mark on Tour in 2009
To coincide with our magazine feature on Canadians out on tour, we thought we’d present a little recap of the number of wins out on the major tours in 2009. The big tours looked like nil-nil situation, but fortunately Stephen Ames put an end to that with his late season victory at Disney. Outside of the Pros, Canada has enjoyed a stellar amateur campaign in 2009 including a stint where the Maple Leaf held down the #1 & 2 ranked spots in... [ Read Full Article ]

Golf was a game played not with high–tech equipment but with skill, finesse and creativity. And the greatest hickory player of all time was Walter Hagen—until the day he met a teenage caddie at a country club outside Chicago. America’s first touring golf professional, Hagen made (and... Islington Golf Club steps up to assist Canadian Open
The 2010 RBC Canadian Open, to be hosted by the St. George’s Golf and Country Club July 19-25, was an event without an on-site practice facility. With rumours of area school grounds and local parks as possible locations for the players to warm up, hit balls and ready themselves for their rounds, the logistics sounded somewhat bizarre and complicated. And then, up steps the Islington Golf Club. Located about two kilometres south of St. George’s... [ Read Full Article ]
Just About Over

The following is an excerpt from Chapter 5 of Journey To Excellence THE ART OF PERFECT PRACTICE If someone were to design the ideal golfer they would include a number of traits held by nearly all the top players. First would be the ability to hit the ball long and straight.
